Inga gallery is hosting the artist Masha Zusman with a new body of works from the last year.
Contrary to her past work, these are small dimension and most of them break the format of a rectangle flat painting.
Her three dimension objects are based on modern contemporary painting and also homemade ancient handcrafts.
Zusman uses cheap no prestige materials – used plywood, ballpoint pens, industrial paint and fake gold leafs – making a charged sculptural picturesque space. Her work combines “high” culture and simple folk, west abstraction and east spiritual abstraction of the Byzantine icons.
